6 Top Tips – How to Stop Doubt and Have More Success?

– Believe in yourself and that you can achieve your goals. If someone has done it, you can do it.

– Believe that you are worthy of success and you are capable of achieving anything you believe in and set your mind to.

Action:  Talk yourself out of self-defeating thoughts. Choose a mantra, or motto to print out so that you can repeat it to yourself everyday. You may find that these will work for you:


“I am confident and I believe in myself.    I constantly bring health, wealth and happiness into my life.    I truly accept myself for who I am.    I am successful in everything I do.    I deserve great things – just for being me.”



“If you’re willing to change your thoughts, you can change your life” Louise Hay

– Our thoughts can become so habitual we don’t realise we are having them and when you begin to tell yourself that you can’t do something, you are letting yourself fail before you even try.

 Action:  Be aware of your thoughts or words you hear in your head – they determine your feelings and actions. When you notice them, ask yourself: what thoughts can I have instead, that will be more beneficial?

– You can stop all negative trains of thought from taking over by remembering that you are the driver of the train.


3.     GOALS

“People with goals succeed because they know where they’re going.” Earl Nightingale

– What is your life purpose? Without your purpose as the compass to guide you, your goals may not ultimately fulfil you. What’s the ‘why’ behind everything you do?

– What is your vision? What are your goals and aspirations? Be specific and clear about what you want.

 Action:  Write them down, print or draw pictures to inspire you. Create a ‘vision’ book and imagine having those things already, every day – your subconscious mind will work to achieve them!

– Successful sports people often use visualisation to get the results they want. You can too.

 Action:  Visualise yourself being successful in whatever you want to happen. For example, to prepare for a meeting: visualise yourself and whoever you are meeting and that the meeting is going well. Really focus on what you are doing and saying that is going well. Do this as many times as you can before the meeting and you’ll be surprised how well it will go!


4.     CONTROL

– Most people have been conditioned to blame something outside ourselves for the parts of our life we don’t like.

– If you want things to have good results, you have to take 100% ownership and responsibility for everything that you experience in your life.

– It’s down to you – no blaming, no excuses. You can’t change other people, but you can change how you influence them.

 Action:  Ask yourself…    What can I do differently?     How could this experience be positive?     How can I influence this?


5.     ACTION

“Vision without action is merely a dream; Action without Vision just passes time. Vision and Action change the world.” Joel Barker 

– Winners take action! They simply get up and do what has to be done – in spite of doubt.

– When you take action, you start to get feedback that will help you make the corrections you need to make to be more successful. Once in action, you will learn at a more rapid rate.

 Action:  When you ‘feel the fear’, do it anyway and have a go. If you avoid it, you increase the risk of never getting what you want in life and business.


6.     RESULTS

– Successful people make mistakes like everyone else, they just pick themselves up, learn from them and get stronger from them. It has also been said that there is no such thing as failure – only results.

– Results are necessary for success. Anyone who has succeeded at anything has had to take risks and with risk comes results and with results come success.

 Action:  When you start something, remind yourself that you have the courage to do whatever you want to do and the strength to learn from your experiences along the way. With each experience, you know that you are one step nearer to your goal, whatever the result. If you really want something, you will find the determination and strength to keep going.
